PROJECT HIGHLIGHT
Foothill Ranch Health Center
Spa-like health center reflects welcome shift in care
For design sensitivity, tricky logistics, and problem-solving prowess, A&D firms turn to Takeform.
Picture this: you walk into an open, light-filled entrance tastefully decorated and staffed by greeters. There's a gourmet coffee bar. A fragrance bar. A fitness shop. It's not a department store. It's not a hotel. It's a new kind of neighborhood health center in Orange County, California, designed to meet people where they are and put patients more at ease.

Takeform's Ethos dimensional letters and logos add high-end character to the space.
The health system behind the project purchased a big-box retail site, gutted it, and reimagined the 44,000 square-foot space from the ground up. Opened in 2020, the spa-like destination features an open floor plan, high ceiling, wood floors, natural light, micro-retail, and sophisticated graphics. But its primary purpose is to provide concierge-level service to its surrounding community with a full range of health needs, from urgent care to women's health to imaging, radiology, even sports medicine.

Takeform collaborated with A&D firm Boulder Associates to help bring their inspired vision for the space to life.
Grand design. But how to bring it to life?
The client's A&D firm, Boulder Associates, had earned a stellar reputation for creating a contemporary aesthetic for this new health center paradigm. And they've since found an ideal experiential graphics partner in Takeform—one who has the aesthetic awareness and technical expertise to actualize their gorgeous vision.

Engineered solution that delivers the aesthetic vision while meeting code requirements.
"The project included complex components like dimensional installations that integrate with architectural elements along with dramatic wall coverings that bring the space to life. We empower A&D firms to design something elaborate because they know they have someone to come in and make it work."
- Kat Wilemon, Takeform Account Manager
Boulder understands that well. And knowing Takeform's capabilities also means the firm's A&D professionals can bring Takeform in on the earliest stages of a project to collaborate on some of the complex challenges of things like large, mounted graphics that directly integrate with other architectural elements.

Amplify custom wallcovering creates an imagination-capturing space for younger patients.
"It's the close working relationship that allowed us to have as much access to the technical aspects of what they were doing as we needed."
- Kat Wilemon, Takeform Account Manager
An on-trend approach to health.
The spa-like concept of this new health center isn't an isolated prototype. It reflects a trend in health care toward mimicking the hospitality industry's charm while integrating a fuller experience for guests. Think “healthcare + retail." It's an approach medical providers are turning to more frequently: offering outpatient services in a more inviting space complemented with more holistic offerings around wellness and brand-name retailers. These lifestyle centers also help patients improve their nutrition and fitness—and manage stress.

Larger-than-life wall graphics connect with the active lifestyle of the area's demographic and captures the rugged beauty of the local landscape.
Recently, Takeform has developed an extensive portfolio by working with national clients on nearly a dozen healthcare + retail projects, helping them introduce this new model for health centers proximal to residential areas.

Amplify custom wallcovering provides both wayfinding guidance and gallery-style backdrops that enhance the hospitality of the center.

Takeform engineers tweaked Fusion standards to ensure braille would be readable within an inset panel.

"We just completed a concierge-style infusion center that takes the same approach, the same design style."
- Kat Wilemon, Takeform Account Manager
