PROJECT HIGHLIGHT
University of Missouri
Pulling together a 1,200-acre campus.

Exterior directional signage across campus has a brand-intensive color scheme to keep everything in the family.
A healthy start
Takeform first met up with representatives from the University of Missouri–Columbia when they were looking for a partner to help them standardize the wayfinding and signage system across the university's sizable campus.
While the institution was ultimately thinking campuswide, the relationship began with work on its hospital campus within the larger footprint. At the time, the hospital was in the midst of their latest expansion: a $203 million patient care tower.

Illuminated signs from the Signify line facilitate effective wayfinding day or night.
Takeform took on the hospital campus wayfinding assignment and began with a site visit to examine how the university might control traffic better through its busy arteries. Collaborating directly with the university's facility and engineering department, the Takeform team developed a wayfinding plan and began implementing the new system for the hospital—and the client was pleased.
Acres and acres of opportunity.
In Takeform, the university found a partner who could think big picture, produce solid work, and make their experiential graphics easily updatable to maintain consistency. That's all vital to keeping the 1,200-acre campus' roughly 17,000 academic and administrative staff. 30,000 students, and countless visitors moving smoothly and getting where they need to go.
The relationship with U of M continues to grow. Work includes a diverse range of new projects, from the university's vast greenhouse to their engaging music hall. And the university's footprint reaches beyond Columbia – work has extended to the St. Louis Campus, as well.

Signify accommodates LED message boards that allow for important announcements and information.

“They're very in tune with our company's graphic capability. They're trying to make a statement themselves. The university wants people to recognize U of M brand as they're moving through their spaces. Their graphics are all about students and learning and the innovation of the campus itself."
– Denielle Wilson, Takeform Project Manager
Room for more
The university's signage system was originally designed around two cornerstone product lines—Signify exterior signage and Fusion interior signage. But as the relationship expands, the university integrates the latest Takeform product lines, each offering new ways to enhance how visitors, students, and staff experience the brand.

This Moxie graphic panel installation visualizes emergency medical simulations as carried out by the Patient-Centered Care Learning Center.

Lafferre Hall features brushed aluminum and strong angles to complement the unique space.

U of M branded freestanding PPE stations stand ready for installation.
The school also embraced lines like Moxie Graphic Panels, with its large-format impact, and Amplify Wallcoverings and Window Films, for their ability to create immersive branded spaces.

Large-format Moxie panels at key locations reinforce the brand and inspire visitors through powerful imagery and larger-than-life scale.
