Since establishing signage design standards for Georgetown University in 2015, Takeform has been a trusted partner, enhancing buildings across both the Hilltop and Capitol campuses. Most recently, Takeform played a key role in the transformative 9-story renovation of 125 E St NW, now home to the McCourt School of Public Policy. In collaboration with Roll Barresi & Associates and Robert A.M. Stern Architects, we designed custom signage and graphics that reflect the school's mission of public service and innovation, creating an environment that fosters community and collaboration.

Adapting with agility.
The McCourt project posed significant challenges, demanding swift action and flexibility due to a late contract award. Having previously established the university's sign standards helped expedite the process, despite a deep approval process and frequent changes caused by construction delays. With a dedicated project manager ensuring clear communication and quick decision-making, we successfully met tight deadlines and adapted to the client's evolving needs.
Wayfinding for impact.
The wayfinding signage for the new McCourt School was designed to be used by a community of global citizens. The system supports the building’s role as a crossroads for policy discourse by reducing barriers to movement and encouraging spontaneous and meaningful interactions. By clearly marking pathways and important destinations, including connections to other areas of the Capitol Campus, wayfinding enhances the user experience. It not only facilitates navigation but also reinforces the building’s mission to be a dynamic center for collaboration and engagement with the broader policy community.

Interior Signage
At the McCourt School of Public Policy, the signage guides visitors while reflecting the university's historic brand. Drawing from the school's architectural heritage and visual identity, each sign reinforces a sense of tradition, excellence, and purpose. By integrating the school’s values, the signage becomes a seamless extension of its brand, fostering an environment where inspiration and connection thrive.

Wallcoverings + Window Films
For Georgetown's McCourt School, we designed wallcovering and window films to echo the school’s mission of collaboration and public service. Using our Amplify wallcovering product, we integrated elements of the school's mission and the surrounding DC landscape. Window films balance transparency and privacy with graphics that reinforce openness and connection. These graphic elements helped turn the environment into a living representation of the McCourt community’s collective vision.

Graphic Panels | Moxie
In the school’s entryway, we installed aluminum graphic panels to make a bold first impression. Featuring iconic Washington, DC imagery alongside powerful statements, the display celebrates the school’s deep connection to the nation’s capital while emphasizing its core values. Positioned prominently, the graphics inspire every visitor, serving as a reminder of the school’s mission to shape the next generation of policymakers.
Custom Brand Display
This two-layer glass installation serves as a source of inspiration for students and faculty, reinforcing the school's commitment to shaping policy that addresses the world’s most pressing challenges.
